A Malignant Mixed Germ Cell Tumor developed in 46,XY Prue Gonadal Dysgenesis(Swyer Syndrome)

Abstract
|

|
A case of 13-year old patient with abdominal distension, right adnexal mass, positive beta-HCG and alpha-FP titer, and ascites in the abdominal cavity, as diagnosed by CT (computed tomography). Laparotomy resulted in a malignant ovarian tumor
[Final
diagnosis : malignant mixed germ cell tumor(gonadoblastoma, endodermal sinus tumor, immature teratoma, dysgerminoma, embryonal carcinoma)]. This patient had female phenotype and 46, XY karyotype. Despite of chemotherapy(BEP regimen), the same
tumor
developed again with a follow-up of 4 months in the opposite gonad before second look laparotomy.
